Strategic review for a leading UK Insurance company

Situation:

KSA Strategy assisted the Group Strategy Team of a leading Private Medical Insurance company with their strategic review process.

Approach:

We worked with the Head of Strategy and the Chief Strategy Officer on several ad-hoc projects, including:

  • The review of the company’s asset portfolio across the globe; we analysed synergies between Business Units and developed strategic recommendations for assets that the company should invest in or divest from in the next five years

  • The identification of potential targets for acquisition; we created an initial list of ~200 companies, which we assessed based on their financial performance and strategic fit with the client. We ended up with a short-list of 15 companies that would be best for acquisition, based on underlying synergies

  • We prepared reports that presented our findings to the company’s Board and Executive Team
